Registration for the 2019 season will take place this fall for all age groups (except 8U).

Registration fee: $325. You must register in order to tryout.

IMPORTANT: If you do not register before the deadline, your daughter will not be allowed to try out. You will then be contacted if there is a space available on the age appropriate team for your daughter.

10U & 12U Tryouts

  • Location: High School Softball Fields
  • Wednesday, August 15
  • Check-In: 5:30pm at concession stands
  • Warmups/Tryouts: 6:00pm - 8:00pm
  • Pitchers & Catchers: 8:00pm - 9:00pm

14U, 16U & 18U Tryouts

  • Location: High School Softball Fields
  • Thursday, August 16
  • Check-In: 5:30pm at concession stands
  • Warmups/Tryouts: 6:00pm - 8:00pm
  • Pitchers & Catchers: 8:00pm - 9:00pm

Age Qualifications

  1. The age classifications are:
    • 8 & Under - Players are 8 or younger as of December 31st of the prior year.
    • 10 & Under - Players are 10 or younger as of December 31st of the prior year.
    • 12 & Under - Players are 12 or younger as of December 31st of the prior year.
    • 14 & Under - Players are 14 or younger as of December 31st of the prior year.
    • 16 & Under - Players are 16 or younger as of December 31st of the prior year.
    • 18 & Under - Players are 18 or younger as of December 31st of the prior year.
  2. A player of an older classification may not play in a younger classification, as per National Softball rules. Any player being considered to move up a level must be approved by the CLFC.

Tryout Details

  • A $200 volunteer check (made out to LARA) will be collected from each family at tryouts. The check will be returned/destroyed after the family completes 8 volunteer hours.
  • Helmets will be available to purchase for a total cost of $55 for the helmet, chin strap and CL stickers.
Helmet Requirements

In an effort to maximize head protection and prevent injuries for all players, they will be required to have their own helmets for travelling softball. Helmets seem to last 2-3 years before they need replacement due to warn out inside or out. If a coach believes a helmet needs to be replaced for safety reasons, the family will be informed and required to replace.

All players that do not currently have a black helmet with the appropriate ratings will be required to purchase a new one through CLF.

If a player is on a High School team and has purchased a current High School team helmet this is appropriate to use for CLF traveling softball and you will not need to purchase another one.

CLF will have helmets in stock for purchasing at our discounted rates at try outs and uniform fittings. Because we purchase in bulk we receive discounted pricing so you will be paying only the discounted cost plus the stickers to go on them. By purchasing through the CLF all team helmets will be the same type and color.
